St James’s Church and the adjoining Village Hall lie at the heart of Beauworth, in which parish are some 40 dwellings and The Milbury’s public house. St James’s can seat 40 comfortably (as can the Hall) or up to 70 in less comfort when needs be. About 100 people live in the parish, forming a tight knit and friendly supportive community, with many activities to get involved in.

Services and Worship

Two traditional Holy Communion services are held each month – one at 8.30am on the second Sunday of the month and the other at 9.30am on the fourth Sunday.

Refreshments are provided in the church after services, with many special services occurring throughout the year. Carol Service, Christmas Day services, a Dawn vigil on Easter morning followed by breakfast and many other occasional services such as Plough and Rogation making our little church a vibrant and lively church to be involved with.

The Parochial Church Council organises a Lent Lunch in aid of a charity each year and regular monthly coffee mornings in the Village Hall, to all of which visitors are very welcome. Members of the Parish Prayer Chain meet every two months or so.
